Study resources from the Committee on Human Sexuality

The Human Sexuality Committee has produced a discussion document concerning the issue of homosexuality, which presents both sides of the debate as well as relevant evidence and theories concerning the development and ethics of sexual orientation. This is intended as background and preparation for the discussions that will take place at the Eston Ministers Conference and the eventual report and debate at General Assembly 2006. We therefore urge all ministers to study the document and, if possible, discuss it with their Sessions.

The Committee has also put together a number of articles culled from the Internet, which deal more extensively with the issues involved. These have been chosen to provide a representative sample of both sides of the debate. It is therefore advisable to read all of them, or at least two articles on the same topic (e.g. the biological basis of homosexuality), to get a balanced view of the typical ‘liberal’ and ‘conservative’ viewpoints
